A recent Finish study found that coffee drinkers are more likely to be on high blood pressure medication than non-drinkers. Dr Jacob Teitelbaum , a fatigue specialist, says just one cup a day can exacerbate fatigue, anxiety or pain. Caffeine is “a loan shark for energy, giving a boost now, but crashing you later”, he says. Worse. It exacerbates low blood sugar, which can bring on irritability, and the acids aggravate indigestion.
